Award winning water colour artist, Ulla Lenzen Butt, has lived and worked in Burlington, Ontario for over
40 years. She first moved to Burlington after graduating from St.Catharines, Teachers’ College to study
Fine Arts at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. During a 32-year teaching career mainly with the
Halton Catholic District School Board, artistic pursuits were initially satisfied in courses and workshops at
McMaster University, Dundas Valley School Of Art, Mohawk College in Hamilton and the Burlington Art
Centre. Later, she worked as a contract Art Instructor for the Brock University Pre-Service Teachers
Program. Her home studio, Artful Expressions, was launched during the late 1990’s and features
watercolor and mixed medium paintings, decorative painting and photography. At present, Ulla is
retired from teaching and devotes herself fully to her art work, painting commissions and showing her
award winning paintings in Juried Exhibitions, local venues and galleries throughout Southern Ontario.
